Did I Just Start a Christian Apparel Brand?

If you had told me a few years ago that I’d be running a Christian apparel brand, I probably would’ve laughed. Not out of disbelief exactly, but because it would’ve sounded like such a leap from where I was. For years, my identity was wrapped up in my work as a nurse practitioner. I poured my time and energy into caring for patients, managing the details of busy medical practices, and balancing the constant demands of healthcare life. But quietly, behind the scenes, I had another love... design and tech.
In between charting notes and seeing patients, I’d find myself tinkering with websites. In fact, I actually built both of the medical practice websites I worked for. I loved every bit of it, choosing colors, arranging layouts, writing copy, creating something from scratch. It was my creative outlet in a world that often demanded structure and precision.
Still, even with a fulfilling career and a creative hobby, I felt something was missing. A kind of deep, lasting happiness I couldn’t quite name. Looking back now, I realize that longing was really a spiritual one. I was searching for joy, for peace, for something that doesn’t fade with circumstance. That search eventually brought me, as it does so many, to an awakening of my faith and a rediscovery of my belief in Jesus Christ.
And here’s where things get beautifully ironic: I’d owned the URL Happiest When for years. I didn’t quite know what it was supposed to be a blog? A lifestyle brand? A creative project? I just knew it felt meaningful. I used to wonder What makes people happiest? What makes me happiest?
Then, in the kind of perfect timing that only God can orchestrate, I transitioned into being a stay-at-home mom. Suddenly, I had the chance (well, maybe not endless time... toddlers have a way of keeping you busy!) to finally bring Happiest When to life. And as I prayed and reflected on what this brand should stand for, the answer became all too clear:
Happiness is found in Him.
So yes, I guess I did just start a Christian apparel brand. One that’s faith forward, comfort focused, and designed to inspire (shameless tagline plug). Every hoodie, tee, weekender bag, or Bible cover is a little piece of my story, my journey and a reminder of where true joy comes from.
And while I may have started this as a creative project, I know it’s really something more. It’s a reflection of faith, of calling, and of gratitude; for the chance to use the gifts I’ve been given to honor the One who gave them to me.
So here we are: Happiest When. Not just a name, but a truth I get to live out and share, one design at a time.
