Day 15: When the Lost Are Found

Luke Chapter 15

Luke 15 is one of the most beloved chapters in Scripture because it reveals the compassion and joy of God toward the lost. Jesus shares three parables: the lost sheep, the lost coin and the prodigal son. Each story highlights a different aspect of God’s heart. His love pursues. His grace restores. His joy overflows when even one person returns to Him.

In the parable of the prodigal son, we see the Father running toward His returning child before a single apology is spoken. This moment captures the essence of divine love. God does not wait with arms crossed. He moves toward us with mercy, welcome and celebration.

Jesus also challenges those who resemble the older brother, those who follow the rules but lose sight of compassion. God’s heart is for reconciliation and joy, not resentment. Luke 15 reassures us that no one is beyond God’s reach and that heaven rejoices when just one heart comes home.

Reflection Verse: There will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Luke 15:7

Prayer Prompt: Lord, thank You for pursuing me with unfailing love. Help me extend Your grace to others with the same open heart.
