Day 18: Persistent Faith

Luke Chapter 18

Luke 18 is a lesson in perseverance. Jesus begins with the parable of a widow who refuses to stop seeking justice. She is not powerful or influential, yet she continues to return until her request is heard. Jesus uses this story to encourage His followers not to lose heart when prayers seem unanswered.

Persistence in prayer is not about convincing God to act. It is about remaining connected to Him through seasons of waiting. Jesus reassures us that God is just, attentive, and faithful, even when His timing does not align with ours.

Later in the chapter, Jesus contrasts pride with humility through the prayers of a Pharisee and a tax collector. The Pharisee relies on his own righteousness, while the tax collector simply asks for mercy. Jesus makes it clear that humility is what draws us into right relationship with God. Faith grows when we approach Him honestly, aware of our dependence on grace.

Luke 18 invites us to keep praying, keep trusting, and keep believing even when the outcome feels uncertain.
