Day 19: Called by Name

Luke Chapter 19

Luke 19 offers a deeply personal encounter between Jesus and Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus is wealthy, despised, and isolated. Despite his status, he climbs a tree simply to catch a glimpse of Jesus. What happens next changes everything. Jesus stops, looks up, and calls him by name.

This moment reveals the heart of Christ. Jesus sees beyond reputation and labels. He seeks Zacchaeus intentionally, entering his home and his life. This act of grace draws immediate repentance and transformation. Zacchaeus responds not out of obligation, but out of a changed heart.

Jesus declares that salvation has come to Zacchaeus’ house, reminding us that redemption is not about who we have been, but who we are becoming through grace. Luke 19 reassures us that Jesus seeks the lost personally and restores lives with purpose.

Reflection Verse: “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10

Prayer Prompt: Lord, thank You for seeing me fully and calling me by name. Help me respond to Your grace with obedience and joy.
