Luke Chapter 20
Luke 20 focuses on authority and truth. Religious leaders attempt to trap Jesus with questions meant to undermine His credibility. Jesus responds with wisdom that reveals the condition of their hearts rather than engaging in their traps.
Through parables, Jesus exposes resistance to God’s authority and warns against rejecting truth for the sake of comfort or control. He reminds His listeners that truth does not change based on opinion or popularity. God’s authority remains firm and unshaken.
Jesus also affirms the reality of resurrection, declaring that God is the God of the living. Luke 20 invites us to examine whether we trust God’s authority or resist it when it challenges us.
Reflection Verse: “He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” Luke 20:38
Prayer Prompt: Lord, help me trust Your authority and remain rooted in Your truth even when it challenges my comfort.
