Luke Chapter 7
Luke 7 is overflowing with compassion and faith. A Roman centurion asks Jesus to heal his servant, not through touch, but through spoken word alone. His humility and belief astonish Jesus, a reminder that great faith sometimes comes from unexpected places.
Jesus then meets a grieving mother whose only son has died. In compassion, He raises the boy, restoring life and restoring hope. His miracles are not simply displays of power but expressions of a Father’s heart for His children.
Later, John the Baptist sends messengers asking if Jesus is truly the One. Jesus responds by pointing to the evidence: the blind see, the lame walk, and good news is proclaimed. Faith is strengthened by seeing God at work.
Then a woman known for her sin anoints Jesus’ feet with her tears. Simon the Pharisee sees her sin Jesus sees her repentance. Jesus teaches that those who are forgiven much, love much. It is a lesson about grace: forgiveness is God’s gift, not something we earn.
Every story in this chapter shows us that Jesus meets people where they are in doubt, in sorrow, in failure, and brings redemption.
Reflection Verse: “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.” Luke 7:50
Prayer Prompt: Lord, grow my faith even when I cannot see the answer yet. Remind me that Your forgiveness reaches every corner of my life and that Your grace is far greater than my failures. Amen.
